Mildred Burnett

Mildred Willson Burnett, 90, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 9, 1921 in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ethel Grandy Willson and the wife of the late Richard Bobo "Bud" Burnett. Mildred was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and a graduate of Converse College. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Morgan of Spartanburg and Carol Mendes and her husband Jack of Fairfax Station, VA; a granddaughter, Teresa Mendes of Phoenix, AZ; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 PM Monday, April 25, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 150 Dexter Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303; or the American Diabetes Association, 701 Grove Rd c/o Greenville Hospital System ISC-3rd Floor, Greenville, SC 29605.
