Mildred Bailey

Mildred Catherine Bryant Bailey, 70, of Inman, SC, died Sunday, October 23, 2016. Born February 23, 1946, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Lillian Mabry Bryant and widow of James Richard Bailey, Sr. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Davis Memorial Baptist Church. She was a color coordinator at Phillips Fibers and also an Elvis Presley fan. Survivors include three grandchildren, Matthew Terry Brewington of Spartanburg, SC, Jessee James Bailey and Noah Paul Bailey, both of Inman, SC; daughter-in-law, Christy Bartlett Bailey of Inman, SC; and sisters, Carolyn Henderson and Gwenlyn Hammett, both of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, James Richard Bailey, Jr.; brother, Paul Bryant; and sisters, Ernestine Thompson and Elizabeth Parnell. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2016, in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385, by the Rev. John Smith. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
