Milbra Higgins

Milbra Dixon Higgins, 91, of Fairforest, SC died Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Born March 27, 1919 in Fairforest, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Eunice Fain Dixon and the stepdaughter of the late Grace Pierce Dixon. She was the wife of the late Andrew C. Higgins, Sr. Mrs. Higgins was a member of the Fairforest Baptist Church where she taught in the Sunday School Department for over 60 years. Formerly, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired from Reeves Brothers. Survivors include three sons, Andrew C. (Jean) Higgins, Jr of Hendersonville, TN, Robert Donald ‘Don' (Lorraine) Higgins of Slidell, LA, and Sidney (Phyllis) Higgins of Wellford, SC; a sister, Plennie Gresham of Lyman, SC; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joe Dempsey and the Rev.
