Mike Thomas Duckett, Sr., 79, of Gaffney, SC, died Sunday, November 23, 2014, at his home. Born November 14, 1935, in Union, SC, he was the son of the late Guy Jerome and Bessie Mae Anderson Duckett. Mr. Duckett was a fixer in the textile industry for 42 years and retired from Beaumont Mills. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #378 and of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his beloved wife of 58 years, Ruth Evelyn Canup Duckett; children, Wanda Louise Alley of Gaffney, Christine Johnson (Richard) of White Plains, Mike Thomas Duckett Jr. of Converse, and Jeffrey Dwynell Duckett of Duncan; grandchildren, Leslie Williams, Johnathan Robinette, Matthew Robinette, and Daniell Blanchard (Christopher); great-grandchildren, Lily Williams, Katie Williams, Ethan Williams, Nate Blanchard, Kirsten Williams, Hunter Blanchard, Levi Robinette, and Adam Blanchard; and sisters, Mildred Gaydos and Irene Pettit, both of Cowpens. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Henry Coley. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
