Michael Stephen Willard

Michael Stephen Willard, age 75, affectionately known as Mike, was born on March 5, 1949, in the quaint town of Milford, Delaware. Throughout his life, he radiated warmth and joy, making an imprint on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to encounter him. He passed away peacefully in Spartanburg South Carolina, on August 19, 2024.

Mike's infectious smile was a hallmark of his vibrant personality, capable of brightening the gloomiest of days. It was said that he had the extraordinary gift of making everyone around him smile, He was a sweet and caring man who shared his friendship with those he knew and would make friends with. His laughter was a melody that resonated deeply, creating a symphony of joy and camaraderie wherever he went. A few of Mike's favorite things were a Coca-Cola and the beach. If he was ever upset, he would say, "I'm not going to be here tomorrow, I'm going to the beach!"

Afflicted with severe disabilities at birth, Mike’s was cared for by his loving parents, Stephen Luther Willard and Mary Neff Willard, who have since passed. He leaves behind a brother, Tim Willard of Kensington, MD and many friends who will all miss him dearly.

A Graveside service will take place at 12"00 pm, Monday, August 26, 2024, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC. 

In the grand tapestry of life, Mike Willard’s thread is woven with moments of laughter, love, and unshakeable joy. As we bid him farewell, let us carry forward his legacy by celebrating every smile and cherishing every moment just as he did.
