Michael Sill

Michael Douglas "Grandmike" Sill, 75, of Simpsonville, SC, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born February 26, 1938, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late William Douglas and Bessie Lee Morse Sill and husband of the late Judy Ann Lancaster Sill. A veteran of the U. S. Air Force and Army Reserves, Mr. Sill was retired from Allstate Insurance Company, was a member of First Baptist Church of Simpsonville, and a Shriner. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis, playing piano, singing, doing yard work, and world traveling. Survivors include his son, Derek Sill and his wife Christie of Greenville, SC; grandsons, Jonathan Taylor Sill and Matthew Derek Sill; Phillip, Rodney, and Joe Sill; and sister, Libby Sill Arnold. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Jeffory Brian Sill. Visitation will be 12:45-1:45 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Randy Harling. Entombment with Masonic rites will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
