Michael Reid Murphy Sr., 73, of Pauline, SC, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center-ER. Born July 5, 1940, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Reid and Floy Webber Murphy. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Murphy was President of Spartan Detective Agency and received his Business Degree from Rutledge College. Surviving is his wife, Jeana Murphy; daughters, Michelle Murphy and Amanda Bartnik, both of Spartanburg, SC, Gaye Murphy Tolleson of Lexington, SC, and Rachel Murphy of Pauline, SC; sons, Michael Reid Murphy Jr. of Spartanburg, SC, and Matthew McKinney of Duncan, SC; nine grandchildren; and sister, Nettie Young of Clinton, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Floy Rose Murphy; and two sisters, Mabel C. Murphy and Floynell Hill. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Thursday, November 14, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev.
