Michael Foster

Michael "Mike" William Foster, 62, of Inman, SC, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 28, 1953, in Fort Gordon, GA, he was the son of the late Harold Benjamin and Nancy Bowen Foster. A 1976 graduate of Clemson University, Mr. Foster was the owner of Foster's Garden Center on Reidville Road in Spartanburg. He was an avid Clemson football fan and member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Mike coached Pop Warner Football and was an active parent with Boy Scout Troop #4 in Columbia, SC. He was also the past president of the SC Nursery & Landscape Association and a member of the Horticultural Advisory Committee at Spartanburg Technical College. Surviving are his son, William Foster of Columbia, SC; sister, Ann Viehman of Tryon, NC; niece, Megan Viehman of Tryon, NC; William's mother, Donna Shealy Foster of Columbia, SC; and numerous cousins. Visitation will be 2:30-3:45 PM Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Paul Wollner. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
