Michael Fleming, Sr.

Michael Lynn Fleming, Sr., 61, died Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 22, 1950 in Guilford County, NC, he was the son of the late Hubert Daniel and Nancy Hanner Fleming. Mr. Fleming was self employed, an avid fisherman, and U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving are a son, Michael Fleming and his wife Amanda of Kernersville, NC; daughter, Angela Fleming and her husband Shereef of Summerfield, NC; three grandchildren, Ashton, Ava Lynn, and Ethan Fleming; sister, Danna Freeman of Clayton, NC; and brother, Joey Fleming and his wife Robin of Greensboro, NC; his significant other, Beverly Whiteside of Spartanburg and her children, Adam Whiteside and his wife Angela and Kyle Whiteside all of Spartanburg; her grandchildren, Jayden, Dylan, and Colt Whiteside. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 5120 Burlington Road, Greensboro, NC 27405.
