Michael Dudley

Michael "Mike" Vance Dudley, 67, of Grayson, Georgia, passed away on May 25, 2017. Mike was born to Lydia Gilkerson Dudley and Colonel Thomas D. Dudley, February 8, 1950 in Roanoke, Virginia. Mike is preceded in death by his father and mother, and brother, David. Survivors include his beloved wife, Glenda E. Dudley, and son, David M. Dudley (Kelly) of Marietta, Georgia. Also surviving are siblings, Lt. Colonel Retired Thomas D. Dudley, Jr. (Linet) of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Vicki McNamara of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ronald Dudley (Teresa) of Suwanee, Georgia, Della Bronstein (Larry) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jennifer Butler of Augusta, Georgia and brother-in-law, Timothy Easler of Spartanburg, South Carolina as well as many nieces and nephews. Mike was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, served as First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and then earned his Master of Science degree from the University of Georgia. His career spanned from 1978 to 2012. He was employed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as a medical microbiologist and then was a sales representative for various medical sales firms. He retired from Beckman-Coulter. Michael was a renaissance man with many varied interests and hobbies including archery, painting, replicating Plains Indian bows and arrows as well as other works of art. In recent years, his work was published in "TradArchers' World" magazine. The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Michael V. "Mike" Dudley will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 1:30 PM, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent in loving memory of Mike to their home church of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church at 2699 Chesnee Highway, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307; or Mt.
