Michael "Buddy" Glenn Whitt, born on October 4, 1989, in Nuremberg, Germany, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, known for his fun-loving and caring nature. Buddy embodied the essence of warmth and kindness; he never met a stranger, and his heart was as big as his temper.
Throughout his life, Buddy made a significant impact in the world of technology as a talented computer programmer, but more of a tech wizard. He was a remarkable guitar player and spent his earlier years as a member of the band "Anonymous Concept." He was quite the movie buff, particularly horror movies, and classics characters like Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, and Captain Jack Sparrow.
Buddy's relationships were the highlights of his life. He is survived by his devoted parents, Glenn and Angela Whitt, his sister Rachel Gonzalez-Howard and her husband Victor, his only niece, Zoey Grace “Peepo” Howard, of Spartanburg. He held a special place in the hearts of his grandmothers, Ann Hughey Woody of Chesnee and Frances Odom Whitt of Spartanburg, as well as his special friend, Lady MeowMeow, and best friend, Bryan Hudson of Spartanburg. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Buddy was also preceded in death by his grandfathers, Alvin Henry Woody, Sr. and Dennis Lee Whitt.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Buddy, the family requests donations be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Dr., Greenville, SC 29607
As we remember Michael "Buddy" Glenn Whitt, we celebrate a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many and whose spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
