Mike Brock, 55, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly Tuesday, December 22, 2021, at his home.
Mike possessed a brilliant mind and a gentle soul. He was a loving father, husband, son, brother and uncle who was respected and appreciated by all who were lucky to come in contact with him.
Mike was an expert outdoorsman. He could fix anything. He was adored by any animal he came across.
Mike is the son of Eugene and Rebecca Brock. A native of Spartanburg with roots here dating back to the founding of the county, he is the grandson of the late Clyde and Anne Nelson Brock and the late Samuel Grady and Gladys Self Austin.
Mike graduated from Dorman High School in 1984. He is a veteran of the US Navy and had been employed for many years at UPS.
Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Samantha, and two cherished daughters, Crystal and Cheyenne. Other survivors include his best friends, brother Terry (Jill) S. Brock, and sister, Victoria “Pickle” (Mark) Brock Jones, niece Lindsey Taylor Brock and nephews Christian Alexander Brock and Eli Sawyer Jones. Mike considered Ethan Spradlin as a son to him and had a crew of guys who are like family to he and Sam, talking to each other on a daily basis. A countless number of people would consider Mike as an important part of their family simply because he was such a giving and caring person.
Mike was a fighter and never gave up. He had the chance to tell people he loved them and he clearly knew he was loved by many, many friends and family.
Friends and family will continue to gather and celebrate Mike’s life and memories of him, just as he wanted.
