Michael Mckee

Michael Anthony “Tony” McKee, 53, of Chesnee, SC, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center.  Born January 27, 1969, in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Frederick Carlos McKee and Joyce Powell.

Tony was a graduate of Blue Ridge High School and attended Greenville Technical College. He was a truck driver for almost 30 years.  He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, fishing, and cooking. He was an amazing cook and enjoyed showcasing his talents for friends and family.  Nobody left hungry after Tony cooked a meal. He especially loved perfecting his BBQ skills and competed for many years. He also enjoyed being with his family and friends and making them laugh.

Survivors include his mother, Joyce Davis Powell, and stepfather, Don Powell of Travelers Rest, SC; his wife, Nicole Kuhn McKee of the home; sons Dustin McKee of Columbus, Ohio and Alex McKee of Greer, SC; daughter, Makayla McKee of Greer, SC; stepson, Corbin Gilbert of the home; grandson, Levi McKee of Inman, SC; sister, Kim Ervin (Tommy) of Traveler’s Rest; brother, Matt McKee (Sylvia) of Traveler’s Rest; five nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Dave Kuhn of Wellford, SC, and his canine companions, Izzy and Jethro.

A Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, 4081 Highway 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by The Rev. William O. Hesse. A visitation will follow at the chapel.
