Merah Bailey

Merah "Mike" Bailey, 86, of 205 Arrowhead Circle, died Monday, February 8, 2010, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born June 5, 1923, in Haughton, LA, she was the daughter of the late John Travis and Josephine Allen Powell and the wife of the late William "Bill" Joseph Bailey for 50 years. She was a graduate of Friendship High School in Friendship, LA, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Bailey of Spartanburg, and Debbie Brown and her husband Jeff of Roswell, GA; two grandchildren, Daniel Brian Stebbins of Howell, MI, and Jordan Blaine Brown of Atlanta, GA; and two sisters-in-law, Faye Powell of Elm Grove, LA, and Martha Moore of Plano, TX. She was predeceased by three brothers, Allen Powell, Roston Powell, and Douglas Powell. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P. O.
