Melvin Henry Cantrell

Melvin Henry Cantrell, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Born March 22, 1932, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late John Wiseman Cantrell and Nellie Holcomb Cantrell.

Melvin proudly served his country in the US Army and was retired from a 36-year career as an engineer with AT&T.

He is survived by his sons, Phillip David Cantrell, Jeffrey Scott Cantrell (Camilla), and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Duke Cantrell, and Edmund Wyatt Cantrell. He was predeceased by three brothers, Clayton, Ernest, and Gene.

Visitation will be held at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 12:30-1:30 PM followed by a private burial at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Summit Hills Skilled Nursing and SRHS Hospice, especially Cindy.
