Megumi “Meg” Kato Mumpower, 85, of Moore, SC, passed away Friday October 1st, 2021 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Meg, the daughter of Tamuro and Kohide Kato, was born on February 20th, 1936 in Tokyo, Japan.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, Jack C. Mumpower Jr.; one daughter, Catherina Wimbish; one son Edward Mumpower (Kathi); three grandchildren, Kaleigh Unger (David), Katie Henderson (Dustin), Amanda Wimbish; four great-grandchildren, Bruce, Reagan, Blaire, and Eva; and two siblings, Nobue Iijima and Nozomu Kato. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Seizo Kato.
Meg was a proficient seamstress who enjoyed flower arranging and cooking. Meg spent a lot of her time reading the Bible and attending bible studies. Her life was centered around taking care of her home and family. Meg was a true Proverbs 31 woman: “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.”
The family will be at their respective homes.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family.
