Maxine Wilkins

Maxine O. Wilkins, 73, of Spartanburg, died Friday, October 8, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 9, 1936 in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Myra Green Crook and was first married to the late Grayson Richard Owensby. She was retired from John H. Montgomery Mills and was a member of Green River Baptist Church, Rutherfordton, NC. She was a homemaker, a mother, and a best friend. In addition to her husband, Robert L. Wilkins, she is survived by two daughters, Patti (James) Newton and Diane (Roger) Owen; two step children, Patty (T.O.) Moore and Robert (Tammie) Wilkins; four grandchildren, Tyler Dills, Brianna Morgan, Heather Moore and Seth Moore; two brothers, Norman John Crook and Max Crook. She was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Green River Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the church, conducted by the Rev. Gary Curtis. Burial will be in Green River Baptist Church Cemetery.
