Max Tisdale, Sr.

Max "Maxie" E. Tisdale, Sr., 68, of 135 Shelton Drive, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born April 18, 1942 in Spartanburg, he was the son of Miriam Easler Tisdale and the late Charles Wilson Tisdale. He was retired from Smith Wholesale Drugs and a member of Gilead Baptist Church of Jonesville. He was an Eagle Scout and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Tisdale (David C.) Greer of Boiling Springs; three sons, Max Emmett (Heather Hutchinson) Tisdale, Jr. of Boiling Springs, Eric B. (Lynn S.) Tisdale of Chesnee, and Shawn (Kacie) Ingle of Jonesville; three brothers, Norris S. (Brenda S.) Tisdale of Greenwood, Carroll W. (Linda Turner) Tisdale of Spartanburg, and Norman M. (Cathy M.) Tisdale of Columbia, SC; and seven grandchildren, Amber (Lee) James, Jason and Kristen Greer, Blake and Faith Tisdale all of Boiling Springs, and Tyler and Lanie Tisdale both of Chesnee. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Swofford. Burial will be in Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery, Jonesville, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
