Max Gilbert Sr.

Max Dupree Gilbert Sr., 86, of Inman, SC died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at his home. Born January 19, 1935, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Charlie Milo Gilbert and Millie Hester Oliver Gilbert.

A U. S. Air Force Veteran, Mr. Gilbert was a retired truck driver with United Parcel Service. He was a former softball player and loved vintage Mustangs. Mr. Gilbert was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

He loved his wife of 62 years, Perrin Weathers Gilbert, and was also survived by his daughter, Donna Solesbee (Ronnie); son, Max Dupree Gilbert Jr. all of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Sarah Solesbee, Stacie Stephens (Ryan), Max Gilbert, and Maverick Gilbert, and sister, Willie Mae Snyder of Chesnee, SC.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 11, 2021, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Visitation will follow the service.
