Mavis Lawson

Mavis Ruth Stacy Lawson, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 23, 1926, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Mollie Wilson Stacy. A graduate of Cecil's Business College, Mrs. Lawson was a member of Life Spring Church and office manager at WASC Radio-Wofford Street since 1976. Surviving are her husband of 73 years, John Henry Lawson, Jr.; sons, John Stanley "Stan" Lawson (Linda) of Boiling Springs, SC and Jacky Lynn Lawson of Walterboro, SC; four grandchildren, Susan Lawson Blackwood (Richey), Melissa Anne Lawson, Cindel Maria Lawson, and Cameron Lyle Lawson (Stevie); three great-grandchildren, Tristan Richard Blackwood, Reece Adam Blackwood, and Vivian Lou Lawson. Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at New Beginnings United Methodist Church, 210 Rainbow Lake Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Terry Fleming and the Rev. Dr. Delbert Tangeman. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home of Stan Lawson.
