Maudie Arthur

Maudie Knighton Arthur, 95, of Roebuck, SC, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at her home. Born January 2, 1921, in Poplar Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mattie Knighton and widow of William G. Arthur. Mrs. Arthur was a great mom and loved to cook for her family. She was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Arthur (Sheryl) of Moore, SC and Gary Arthur (Robin) of Roebuck, SC; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Larry William Arthur and his wife, Martha Arthur; and also eight brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 10, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roebuck Baptist Church, PO Box 490, Roebuck, SC 29376. The family is at their respective homes.
