Maryanne Hayes

Maryanne Hayes, 86, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born February 22, 1925, in Bedford, OH, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ruth Alexander Bromley and wife of the late Dale Edward Hayes. Maryanne was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church, an enthusiastic member of the Walk to Emmaus Foothills Community, past president of the United Methodist Women, past secretary of the Administrative Board, participated in the church tape ministry for shut-ins, was a Sunday School Class leader, and led Bible studies for various community groups. At White Oak Estates, she was a member of the Residents Committee, Red Hat Club, Bridge Group, and card ministry for the Devotions Group. All activities that Maryanne participated in were faith-based. She was a giver, doer, and lover of people. Survivors include her son, Roger Hayes of Seattle, WA; her daughter, Donna Evans and husband Bruce of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; numerous nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by a son, David Hayes; two brothers, Charles and Bruce Bromley, and a sister, Jane Hannon. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Salem United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Roye Lynn Kulik. Visitation will follow the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, OH.
