Mary Wright

Mary Roberts Wright, 98, of Spartanburg, died Monday, December 5, 2011, at Emeritus at Skylyn Place-Spartanburg. Born November 5, 1913, in Simpsonville, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Elizabeth Ashmore Roberts of Greenville County, and the widow of L. T. Wright Sr. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, L. T. Wright Jr. (Brenda); grandsons, Chris Wright (Kristi), and Tommy Wright; and a great-granddaughter, Christina, all of Spartanburg. She also leaves nephews, Jack Ashmore (Edna), Wallace Ashmore Jr., J. W. Roberts (Charlotte), Jack Roberts (Sylvia), Terry Roberts (Marion), Tommy Roberts (Florrie), and Mills Pace (Pat). She was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, with the Rev. David B. Smith officiating. There will be a private burial in Sunset Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
