Mary West

Mary Reba McAbee West, 93, of Pacolet, SC, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Magnolia Manor of Spartanburg. Born September 3, 1920, in Pacolet, SC, she was the daughter of the late Gul Thardus and Gertrude Moore McAbee. She was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church, Pacolet. Surviving are her children, Georgie Rogers Upton of Pacolet; granddaughters, Lisa Upton of Greenville, Tracy Garner of Gaffney, and Joshua Rogers of Pacolet; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wilford McAbee of Inman. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by sons, Laddie and Lamar Rogers; sister, Eunice Fones; and brothers, Odom, Marshall, Ladson, Hugh, Felix, and Lewis McAbee. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2013, in Frederick Memorial Gardens, 986 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341, by the Rev. Norman Gardner.
