Mary Tucker

Mary Louise Tucker, 72, of 425 South Church Street, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 1, 1937, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Welford and Vallie Elizabeth Meadows Huitt and the wife of the late Charles Tucker. She was retired from Enoree Mills, a volunteer with Mobile Meals Service, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include four brothers, Houston Huitt and his wife Frances of Chesnee, John T. Huitt and his wife Frances of Duncan, Charles Huitt and his wife Lillie, and Paul Huitt, all of Spartanburg; and two sisters, Margaret Lyda of Laurens, and Virginia Coggins of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by two brothers, James Huitt and Clayton Huitt, Jr.; and a sister, Merita Griffin. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Cash. Burial will be in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Woodruff. The family is at the home of Tommy Huitt, 1950 Abner Creek Road, Duncan.
