Mary Ann Turner Rowell, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff. A native of Spartanburg, she was born on January 24, 1945, to the late, Grady and Lillie Mae Turner, and was the widow of Jack H. Rowell. She was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church.
Mary was a sweet and kindhearted soul who loved the Lord, her family and friends. She enjoyed flowers, music, dancing and traveling.
Survivors include her children; Jack Hughston Rowell, Jr. (Nancy) of Cowpens, SC, and Bonita Hedrick of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jacklyn Ciara Hedrick of Charleston, SC and Thomas Andrew Hedrick of Laurens, SC; sister-in-laws, Martha Turner of Wellford, SC, Pam Prince and Glenda McKeithan, of Boiling Springs, SC, Marsha Willingham of Chesnee, SC, Dr. Eunice Rowell of Greenwood, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret West and Evelyn Cook of Spartanburg, SC, Yvonne Pressley of Chesnee, SC, Hugh Turner of Wellford, SC and Talmadge Turner of Spartanburg, SC. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Her Graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, May 10, 2024, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Dr. Tim Williams. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff Activity Department, 80 Medical Center Drive, Woodruff, SC 29388.
