Mary Pattis

Mary Louise Brock Pattis, 89, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, January 23, 2016, at her home. Born April 2, 1926, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Hollis Brock and Myrtle Belle McCombs Brock and the widow of George Nicholas Pattis. After graduating from Spartanburg High School, Mary toured with the Hammett and Morton Circus as a trapeze aerialist for seven years. Mrs. Pattis received her RN Degree from Miami Dade Community College and worked for 30 years as a registered nurse. She was a lifetime member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion and First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Frances Pattis Nunez of Miami, FL; son, Dr. George Nicholas Pattis of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren; and sister, Peggy Ann Brock of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Ray, Paul, Gene, and Hugh. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
