Mary Patrick

Mary Ann Wells Patrick, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born February 26, 1936, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Oras Baxter Wells and Dorothy Byars Wells, and widow of Everett Manuel Patrick. Mrs. Patrick retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr. Melvin Medlock after 35 years of service. She attended Winthrop College and received her degree in nursing from Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. A former Youth Group and Girl Scout leader at Routh Memorial Presbyterian Church, she was a person with a great sense of humor who loved life to the fullest. She so enjoyed her family and friends and was compassionate to everyone. Survivors include her children, Lucinda Patrick Williams (Don) and Teena Patrick Evans (Doug), all of Spartanburg; four grandchildren, Ann Blair Gurganus (Kemp) of Spartanburg, Stephen Patrick Fisher of Charleston, Lucinda Fisher Wiltfang (Perry) and Chandler Scott Johnston (Danielle), all of Spartanburg; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two granddaughters, Mary Caitlin Johnston Stokes and Rachel Marie Evans. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Dale Rawlings. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
