Mary Ondrus

Mary Ann Fayak Ondrus, 83, of Boiling Springs, died Saturday, May 14, 2011 at her home. Born August 21, 1927, in Czechoslovakia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Palis Fayak. Mrs. Ondrus was a member of the Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior and a volunteer at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. She was from North Olmstead, Ohio, where she was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church and worked at Lakewood Hospital and Magnificat High School. Mary is survived by her husband, Paul Francis Ondrus, of the home; four sons, Paul L. Ondrus and wife Barb of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jim Ondrus and wife Susan of Canton, OH, Robert Ondrus and wife Beth of Chicago, IL, and Joe Ondrus and wife Laurie of Boston, MA; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Laco and husband Tony of Westlake, OH, and Martha Valco and husband George of Ohio. She was predeceased by a sister, Anne Grospitch and her husband Bernie. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, May 22, 2011, with The Rosary at 6:00 PM, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, conducted by the Rev. Ted Kalaw. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, 2575 Reidville Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family is at the home.
