Mary Helen Searcy Wilkie Mills "Nanny", 73, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born March 7, 1944, in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of Lillian Lowery Searcy of Boiling Springs, SC and the late William Searcy. Mrs. Mills loved her family, enjoyed the outdoors and eating out, and made "the best banana pudding in the world". She was a member of Parkway Free Will Baptist Church, the Seniors Sunday School Class, and retired from Johns Manville in Spartanburg. Survivors include her husband, Jerry E. Mills Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky Wilkie (Patsy) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Chuck Wilkie (Kathy) of Roebuck, SC; stepson, Eddie Mills of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren, James Gore Jr., Jeremy Brown, Philip Wilkie, Christopher Wilkie, and Jennifer Genobles; two step-grandchildren, Barrett Lee and Holly Lee; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Zeb Searcy (Edie), Peggy Williams (Dennis), Jean Ray, Kay Murray (Joe), and Dean Searcy. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Searcy. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, March 24, 2017, at Parkway Free Will Baptist Church, 3615 Parris Bridge Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev. Mitchell Edge, the Rev. Kenneth Cash, and the Rev. Wes Murray. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home of Jerry Mills.
