Born on January 11, 1951, in Inman, South Carolina, Mary Louise (Lawter) Mann, 64, of Roebuck, South Carolina, went home to be with Jesus on August 21, 2015. Married on April 22, 1977, in Roebuck, South Carolina, Mary was the loyal, loving, and devoted wife to Franklin Milton Mann, Sr. She graduated from Landrum High School in 1969, then attended Spartanburg Community College. She was employed at Perrin, Mann, Patterson and Pressley, LLP, alongside her husband, for 45 years. Frank and Mary enjoyed years of working together, re-doing houses, spending time at the lake, on the golf course, and at their mountain house. Two of Mary's (aka Grammy) greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, Bradley Hoyt Townsend Mann and Rebecca Mary-Frances Mann, or as she called them Brad-Brad and Becca Boo. Grammy was always up for being "Lunch Grammy" at Oakbrook Preparatory School, playing Army Guys, watching every Jurassic Park movie repeatedly, a trip to the nail salon, or just cuddling up in bed watching TV and chatting about their lives and nonsense. Pure pride, sheer joy, and unconditional love was shared between the three of them. Daughter of the late Garlon Daniel Lawter and Thelma Smith Lawter of Landrum, she is survived by her adoring husband of 39 years, attorney Frank Mann; a son, Franklin Milton Mann, Jr. (Bette) of Landrum; a "daughter", Holly Jo Mann; grandchildren, Bradley Hoyt Townsend Mann and Rebecca Mary-France Mann; brothers, Daniel Lawter (Kim) of Atlanta and Thomas Lawter (Carolyn) of Landrum; nieces and nephews, Cammi Billingsley, Lindsay Lawter, and Christopher, all of Phoenix, Arizona and Wesley Lawter of Landrum; great nieces and nephews; life-long friends, Gail Solesbee (Randy) of Boiling Springs, and Beth Gosnell (Henry) of Campobello; special family friend, Larry Morris of Washington Court House, Ohio; innumerable loving friends and business associates in the legal, real estate, and finance communities. To know Mary, was to have a friend on your side. She was predeceased in death by her brother, Wayne Lawter, and her precious little dog, Sissy. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 2:45 PM, Monday, August 24, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jonesy Brewer. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations in memory of Mary Mann be made to Oakbrook Preparatory School, 190 Lincoln School Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301 and/or Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
