Mary Mahaffee

Mary Ann Willis Mahaffee, 76, of 140 Edgewood Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 21, 1934 in Glendale, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Elmer and Mable Rhinehart Willis. She was married to the late Cliatt Ried Mahaffee for 47 years. She was retired from Progress Lighting, a member of Westside Baptist Church in Cowpens, and a member of the Shade Tree Singers of Southside Baptist Church. Survivors are a daughter, Debbie Genobles and husband Randy; a son, Steve Mahaffee and wife Janice of Cowpens; two brothers, John C. Willis and wife Joann of Cowpens and James E. Willis and wife Poppy of Statesville, NC; three sisters, Doris Cox and husband Kenneth of Duncan, SC, Marcella Kay Motts and husband Ronnie of Pacolet, SC, and Linda Smith and husband Danny of Roebuck, SC; three grandchildren, Lisa Genobles of Spartanburg, Shannon Mahaffee of Dothan, AL, and Jason Genobles and wife Kim of Spartanburg; a great-granddaughter, Tori Genobles; three special grandchildren; and nine special great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Carroll R. "Bud" Mahaffee. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Travis Blackwell and the Rev. Eddie Willis. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1497, Cowpens, SC 29330. The family is at the home.
