Mary Holcombe

Mary Louise Henderson Holcombe, 86, formerly of Woodvale Drive, died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at White Oak Manor. Born October 30, 1923, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde William and Beulah Bell Henderson and the wife of the late Aubrey E. Holcombe. She was retired from Whitney Mill and was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include three brothers, John C. "Conk" Henderson and Herbert R. Henderson, both of Spartanburg, and Bobby Henderson of Greer; two sisters, Martha Shehan and Linda G. Saxon, both of Spartanburg; a grandson, Columbus Dean Hayes, Jr., and a granddaughter, Leslie Hayes Villanueva, both of Spartanburg; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan Hayes, Lily Hayes, Erin Villanueva, and Erica Villanueva. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dolores Ann Holcombe Hayes; and four brothers, Clyde Henderson, Jr., Edward Henderson, Herman Henderson, and Richard Henderson. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Tim Hackett. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. The family is at their respective homes.
