Mary Groce Long "Meg", 67, of Boiling Springs, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 10, 1950, in Spartanburg, SC, Meg was the daughter of the late Leroy Groce and the late Helen R. Cantrell. Meg retired from Denny's Corporation after 25 loyal years. She was also active in the Halter Program at Spartanburg's Deaf & Blind School. She leaves behind her son, Kevin B. Long, his wife Shirley and grandson, "BJ"; as well as many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Lee Groce of Greer, SC; sister, Judy Wines of Boiling Springs, SC; her dearest and best friend, Dianne Hughes of Boiling Springs, SC; nephew, Jacob Smith Gillispie, his wife Casey; great-nephew, Blaine Gillespie; nephew, Jim Groce, his wife Jill; niece, Leslie Crews, her husband Ken; great-nephew, Gunner Crews; many extended family and friends; and her beloved canine friend, "Buddy". Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 18, 2017, Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Keith Davis. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, 180 Oakwood Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
