Mary Brady Kay, 82, of Moore, SC passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Cottages at Brushy Creek with her children by her side. Born September 22, 1928 in Ware Shoals, she was the daughter of the late James and Bertha Howell Brady and wife of the late Lewis M. Kay. Mary was retired from Hoechst Celanese, a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church, and a past president of VFW Post 9349 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her three daughters, Susan Rodgers and husband Butch of Moore, Nancy Gibson of Grayson, GA, and Shirley Schultz and husband Jeffrey of Bakersville, CA; son, Donald Kay and wife Sylvia of Inman; daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Michael Workman and wife Shira, Jeffrey Workman, Michael James Smith, Trey Rodgers and wife Ashley, Tyler Rodgers, and Leigh Sweeney and husband Troy; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Chandler Workman and Eliza and Meredith Sweeney; and her pet, Zoe, whom she adored. She was predeceased by a son, Michael L. Smith. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, August 15, 2011 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jack A. Caldwell. Burial will be in Good Shephard Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at the Cottages at Brushy Creek for their love, compassion, and excellent care given to Mrs. Kay in her last days. Also a special thanks to her friend, Rachel Brown, for her support and love. The family is at the home 123 Darmondale Drive, Moore, SC 29369.
