Mary Johnson Willard, 90, died Friday, February 18, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 1, 1920, in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Rhett Martin Johnson and Audrey Johnson and was the widow of Thomas E. Willard, Sr. Mrs. Willard was a graduate of Fairforest High School and was retired from Raycord Manufacturing Company. She was a lifetime member and taught Sunday School for years at Saxon Baptist Church; she was currently a member of United Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Willard, Jr. and wife, Marcia of Chesnee; two daughters, Ann W. Cothran of Spartanburg, and Wanda W. Suddeth and husband Henry of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Timothy and Robin Willard of Boiling Springs, Angela and Jay Dewart of Spartanburg, Shannon and Roxanne Cothran of Pauline, SC, Heather and Joshua Miller of Chesnee, Nicole and Erik Stuttz of Boiling Springs, and Erin H. Suddeth of Charleston; great-grandchildren Bailey and Ashlen Dewart; Cole Willard; Brittney, Cory, and Shanna Cothran; Erika, Kylie and Nickolas Stuttz; and a sister, Abby Kanipe of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a brother, H. Sinclair Johnson, and two sisters, Peggy Edwards and Betty J. Hawkins. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert Emory and the Rev. Monty King. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at the home of her son, Tommy Willard, 1231 Sandy Ford Road, Chesnee, SC.
