Mary Holden

Mary Ellen Lanford Holden, 89, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, December 12, 2016, at Fountain Inn Nursing Home. Born September 8, 1927, in Woodruff, SC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Grady Lanford and Mattie Huckaby Lanford and widow of Robert Lee Holden. Mrs. Holden was a member of River Hills Baptist Church and retired operator and supervisor with BellSouth. Surviving are her brother, Roy Franklin Lanford of Spartanburg, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Crystal L. Cromer; and two brothers, Charles Henry Lanford and Lewis Lanford. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 15, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. C. Kent Smith. Visitation will be at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to River Hills Baptist Church. 5762 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369.
