Mary Lasley Hess, 72, of Inman, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 4, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a lengthy illness. Born January 8, 1937, in Lebanon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Charles and Martha Lucas Lasley and the wife of the late James "Jim" John Hess. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Larry Hess, Richard Hess, and Stephen Hess, all of Spartanburg; three daughters, Janet Curtis of Campobello, Tammy Cothran of Inman, and Patty Duffy of Spartanburg; a sister, Betty Robinson, and a brother, George Lasley, both of Lebanon, VA; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Charles Hess; a grandson, Robert Hess; four brothers; and one sister. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Roger McCullough and the Rev. Monty King. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of Janet Curtis, 4635 Rainbow Lake Road, Campobello, and at the home of Tammy Cothran, 2430 Old Mill Road, Inman.
