Mary Hefner

Mary B. Hefner, 81, of Cowpens, a former resident of Whitney for 30 years, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at her home. Born December 17, 1927, in Anderson County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John and Lenora Shumaker Leopard and the wife of the late Joe Franklin Hefner, Sr. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a son, Joe Hefner, Jr. of Converse; a daughter, Brenda Hefner of Cowpens; two grandchildren, Cindy Thompson Culbreth and Scott Hefner; and two great-granddaughters, Nikki Culbreth and Christy Ann Culbreth. The family sends a special thank-you to Interim Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Mike Stepp and the Rev. Cindy Adair Inman. Memorials may be made to the Mary B.
