Mary Greene

Mary Gallman Greene, 92, of Pacolet, SC, died Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 31, 1923, in Pacolet, SC, she was the daughter of the late Sallie Gallman and widow of James Hoyt Greene. Mrs. Greene was an outgoing and witty soul with a constant smile and glowing personality who loved all people, especially children. She was a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher, attended the Ladies Circle, and was involved with the visitation program. Survivors include her daughters, Myra Greene Soderlund and Kay Greene Bogan; grandchildren, Keela Bogan Long (Phil), Keri Bogan, Keith Soderlund, Todd Soderlund (Kristi) and Matthew Soderlund; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Long, Kate and Alex Soderlund. She was predeceased by a son, Neil Hoyt Greene; brother, Defoy Gallman; and son-in-law, Roger Soderlund. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Norman L. Band. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
