Mary Fowler

Mary Sue "Memaw" Fowler, 68, of 145 Washington Road, Apt. 1J2, Cowpens, SC, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at her home. Born April 19, 1945, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Etta Mae Parker Davis and was raised by her special grandmother, Lillie "Granny" Parker. Mrs. Fowler was a homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren, and loved to cook especially at Christmastime. She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church in Gaffney. Survivors include her husband, Sherman Fowler; daughters, Shana McKenzie (Jeff) and Dianne Firebaugh (Mike); sisters, Joyce Blackwell, Pat Garner (Gayland) and Gloria Davis, all of Gaffney, and Mae Buchanan of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Stephen McKenzie, Kyle McKenzie, Lacie Sapp (Ethan), Justin Fowler and Tasha Fowler; and great-grandchildren, Abby, Addison and Andrew. She was predeceased by sisters, Shirley Goode, Gail Millen and Brenda Brown; and brothers, Joe Earl Davis, Charles Joe Davis, John Davis and Ken Davis. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, September 23, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Randy McCraw. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
