Mary Drozdak

Mary Mellon Drozdak, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, December 25, 2015 at Summit Hills. Born February 10, 1922, in Mahanoy City, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Stetsko Mellon, and widow of Peter Andrew Drozdak. Mrs. Drozdak was a nurse's aide at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. She was a former member of Trinity Church in Myrtle Beach, SC, and currently a member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent. She enjoyed sewing, smocking, knitting, and crocheting. Surviving are her son, Dennis P. Drozdak (Jean) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer D. Stivers of Montgomery, AL, and Andrew D. Drozdak (Natasha) of Columbia, SC; two great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Hydock of Shenandoah, PA; and son-in-law, Bob Roland of Jamestown, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a daughter, Anette D. Roland; sisters and brothers, John Mellon, Anna Grosso, Andrew Mellon, Ted Mellon, and Irene Blew. Services were private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Advent, The Guild of St. Frances and St. Clare, 141 Advent St., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
