Mary Dodd

Mary Jo Blackwood Dodd, 89, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Eden Terrace. Born December 7, 1925, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William and Bertie Kendrick Blackwood and widow of Hugh Albert Dodd. Mrs. Dodd was a member of Green Street Baptist Church. She retired from Bell South in 1981 and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Among survivors are her son, Hugh A. Dodd, Jr. (Mary) of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Ali Dodd and Hugh Bradley "Brad" Dodd; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Aidan Dodd; and brother, Harry K. Blackwood (Linda) of Boiling Springs, SC. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 18, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Thomas Moore.
