Mary Carr

Mary Juanita Carr, 94, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born May 26, 1923, in Clifton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Zelie Chapman Carr. Mary was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, the 55 Plus Club, United Methodist Women, and Clifton Improvement Association. She was formerly employed at Clifton Mills and retired from Clarkson Brothers. Surviving are her sister-in-law, Betty Hughes Carr of Spartanburg; and a number of cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Jack Carr and Vernon Carr. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Dr. Wayne Major. Visitation will be at the graveside. Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 3055 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
