Mary Smith

Mary Carolyn "Connie" Wofford Smith, 75, of Roebuck, SC, died Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 1, 1941, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Carl Wofford and Mary Etta Meadows Wofford. Mrs. Smith was a kind, generous, selfless lady who loved her Lord, family, and friends. A member of Southport Church (formerly Arkwright Baptist Church), she was involved in many church activities and served as president of Happy Hearts. Connie also had a card ministry at church to express and uplift her fellow church members. She retired from Johnny E. Smith Construction after many years of service. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Johnny Earl Smith; children, Lynn Smith Seiler of Fountain Inn, SC, and John Scott Smith and wife Pamela of Roebuck, SC; six grandchildren, Stephen, Caleb, Amber, McKailley, Coleman, and Kassie; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jaycie; and brothers, Cecil "Bud" Wofford of Boiling Springs, SC, Allan "Sam" Wofford of Greer, SC, Ricky Wofford of Boiling Springs, SC, and Michael Wofford of Charlotte, NC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, William Stephen Smith, Sr.; and brother, David Wofford. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, January 23, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. James Blackwood.
