Mary Padgett

A loving mother and grandmother, Mary Burch Padgett, 85, of Campobello, SC, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC. Born March 29, 1928, in Duncan, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Winfield "Jack" and Lily Arms Burch, and widow of Lawrence Lee Padgett. She was a member of Riverside Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Susan Padgett Carr (Kevin) of Lyman, SC, Tim Padgett (Deb) of Campobello, SC, Kim Padgett Waters (Larry) of Cincinnati, OH, Sylvia Padgett Johnson (Jeff) of Campobello, SC; stepdaughter, Virginia "Gin" Freeman of Tuxedo, NC; grandchildren, Sonya Robbins, Jeremy Waters, Suzanne Waters, Jennifer Atkins, Erica Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Madison Carr, and Mallory Carr; great-grandchildren, Michael Rockett, Joshua Robbins, Caleb Waters, and Mackenzie Waters. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy Padgett Giles; a number of brothers and sisters; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Friday, August 16, 2013, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Trent Watson. Burial will be in Riverside Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, 12045 Hwy 9, Campobello, SC 29322. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356.
