Mary Brock

Mary Holcomb Brock, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 25, 1936, in Chesnee, SC, she was the daughter of the late Paul McFarland Holcomb and Bessie Geneva Henderson Holcomb, and widow of Sorrell Eugene Brock. Mrs. Brock was an oncology nurse at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for many years. She was also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. Surviving are her children, Bonnie Gene Brock and Judy Dianne Brock, both of Spartanburg, SC, John H. Brock (Katrina) of Gaffney, SC, Anne Brock Trail of Chesnee, SC, and Von E. Brock of Boiling Springs, SC; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Paula Holcomb Horton of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Paul Calvin Holcomb and Roger Douglas Holcomb. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, October 24, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by family members. Burial at a later date will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
