Mary Brannon

Mary Marcengill Brannon, 76, of 203 Kenneth Drive, died Friday, February 5, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 17, 1933, in Westminster, SC, she was the daughter of the late Julius Cecil and Grace Farmer Marcengill. She was first married to the late Daris E. Houston. She was retired from S&S Manufacturing and a member of Northbrook Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Charles T. Brannon; two children, G. Phillip Houston and wife Kathy A. of Portland, OR, Cecelia Thompson of Boiling Springs, and a step-son, Michael S. Brannon of Hendersonville, NC; and a brother Jack Marcengill of Pickens. She was predeceased by four brothers, Frank Marcengill, Joe Marcengill, W. H. Marcengill, and Calvin Marcengill; and three sisters, Gwinn Cantrell, Jean Crocker, and Edith Osment. Visitation will be 12:00-12:45 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Wayne Dickard, the Rev. Adrian Allen, and the Rev. Dr. James W. Crocker. Entombment will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201; or to Northbrook Baptist Church Building Fund, 1881 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29316.
