Mary Bosco

Mary Lee Gaines Bosco, 91, of Wellford, SC, died Monday, February 2, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 29, 1923, in Elberton County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Admiral Dewey and Susie Mildred Adams Gaines, and wife for 51 years to the late Ignatius Joseph Bosco. Mrs. Bosco was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and retired from Butte Knit after 21 years of service. Survivors include her sisters, Betty Smith of Elberton, GA and Willene Tucker of Murfreesboro, TN; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Walter Siwierka of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Bobbie Hall, Sara Waide, and Norma Haston; and a brother, Joe Carl Gaines. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Friday, February 6, 2015, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 7, 2015, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, by the Rev. Timothy M. Gahan. Private burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 290 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home.
