Mary Blackwell

Mary Ann Blackwell, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at her home. A lifelong resident of Spartanburg, she was born on July 4, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Harold Walker Alley Sr. and Ada Mae Walters Alley. Mrs. Blackwell was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, Class of 1948 and a member of Central United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Jack D. Blackwell; children, Winford Allen Fine Jr. (Sandra), and Ronald H. Fine (Cheri) all of Inman, SC, Linda F. Jenkins (Phillip) of Harris, NC, Libby F. Blackwell (Craig) of Spartanburg, SC; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold W. Alley (Irene) of Seneca, SC, Rev. Joseph Alley (Barbara) of Lexington, SC; sister, Carolyn Gilliam (Rev. Jim Gilliam) of Taylors, SC and brother-in-law, Arthur Earl Clippard of Waynesville, NC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Doris Clippard. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with services following at 12 Noon in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Lynne Alley-Grant and the Rev. Doug Bowling. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 233 N.
